Hello SPSC Members and Smith Regatta Volunteers. Liz Montgomery and I (Rick Upson) saw Deb Berlinger playing drums at the Red Shed Juke Joint Blues Jam last Sunday, June 4th. This Monthly event is usually the first Sunday of the month around 3PM, and was previously held at the Bradfordville Blues Club. Usually, there is a sign up sheet and different musicians sign up to play different musical instruments, and they step on and off the stage taking turns. It goes on for about 3 hours with only brief interruptions while musicians trade places on stage. This last Juke Joint Jam took place on an SPSC practice day at the beach, so some of you were probably at the beach that day. Well, Deb was the only drummer, and she played 3 hours non stop! This earned her the title "Fierce Deb" Berlinger as well as great praise and admiration from her fellow musicians. When you see Deb in the future, please remember to call her by her new name: "Fierce Deb" Berlinger.
